The Oneida County Volunteer Firemen's Association is dedicated to the preservation of life and property through accident prevention, fire prevention, and emergency response coordination. Our mission is to support and unify the volunteer fire departments across Oneida County, fostering collaboration, training, and mutual aid to enhance public safety.
As an organization, we strive to:
- Promote fire prevention and safety education
- Strengthen the bonds of friendship and loyalty among our members
- Coordinate county-wide mutual aid efforts
- Host conventions, meetings, and training opportunities for volunteer firefighters
Through our collective efforts, we ensure that the brave men and women of our volunteer fire service have the resources, training, and support needed to protect our communities.

Passing of Past President Ron Steinmann

Ronald “Ron” Steinmann, 78, of Deansboro, NY passed away on March 29, 2025. Born in Utica, NY on January 2, 1947, he was the son of Walter Steinmann and Ruth Bennett Steinmann. Following graduation from high school Ron obtained his associate’s degree from SUNY Morrisville. Ron was united in marriage to Deborah VonDauber in 1970, a ceremony which took place at the Deansboro United Church of Christ.
