Spring has arrived and things are starting to green-up even though winter weather is trying to sneak back in as we work to get back to some form of normal operations which is moving forward we have already had a number of in-person classes that have gone very well. We all continue to handled calls for service meeting the needs of our communities and conducting group operations following regional guidelines and working with others in local government to smoothly meet the needs of your region, please stay safe. As you can see from the attachments we have a number of training classes scheduled in-person, virtual and webcast this reflects April and May Training. I have moved to cover two months of training to give everyone more notice to plan to attend and get authorization to take training they need and want. All in-person classes scheduled will be conducted with guidance from the host agencies as to the safe number of attendees they can accommodate and close monitoring of local concerns, I will advise you of additional programs/classes as they are scheduled and confirmed and any classes that may be postponed. A number of you have taken advantage of our added training opportunities with virtual and webinar training please monitor the VFIS training calendar on the VFIS.com website for all training.

VFIS 1 hour webinar training sessions for April and May 2021 we are conducting one about every other week they are also listed on the VFIS training calendar on the VFIS.com website. The webinars scheduled for April are Tuesday 4/13/21 from 7pm-8pm titled Incident Investigation Wednesday 4/21/21 from 1pm -2pm with Calm Under Pressure – Customer Service & De-Escalation Techniques for 911. In May we will present ESO Board Member Essentials on Tuesday 5/11/21 from 7pm-8pm and Evidence-Based Decision Making on Wednesday 5/19/21 from 1pm-2pm.
2021 as you can see is very busy and in-person classes have all gone very well with no incidents the April and May scheduled classes that have openings are attached to this monthly training update there are a few classes that have been closed due to the classes meeting the maximum attendance permitted. We are scheduling a number of classes looking into future months now focusing on summer and early fall classes. Attached is a copy of our Training Resource Guide that outlines many of the training classes we offer, if any of you would like to host a class in your region please contact me at email@example.com.

ON-LINE TRAINIG ON VFIS UNIVERSITY (VFISU)
VFISU usage in NYS continues to lead the Nation and we continue to register a number of clients/customers to use VFISU which is available 24/7 365 !!!. VFISU on-line training has over 120 free classes and we will be adding and updating more classes in 2021. Many of the classes we are all looking for like class #401 FASNY OSHA Annual Refresher Training , #405 - NY-Sexual Harassment Awareness and Prevention - New York and #120 Workplace Violence issues for Fire & EMS Personnel which are annual requirements in NYS are available on VFISU. Also as you will see when you go to the VFISU website there are a number of other classes that you will not find on the attached list of VFISU classes that are currently available to clients/customers. If you would like to take any of these additional classes listed on the VFISU website that are not listed on the attached list of VFISU class please do so ASAP they are available for a limited time. Those clients and customers that have not already mass uploaded your personnel to access and use VFISU all you need to do is contact VFIS client services at firstname.lastname@example.org and they will walk you through what you need to do it’s very easy they will need the name and a valid email address for each person you want to use VFISU. RISK AND TRAINIG TOOLS
Just a reminder of our link to Risk and Training tools RiskTools.VFIS.com. to streamline access to tools such as VFISU/Responder Help/VFIS Safety Central and HR Help, to help clients/customers having one button access to tools. These are all great tools to use and Responderhelp.com is a great resource you may be looking for to answer every day questions and administrative or operational needs in 2021 this resource was used by NYS users nearly 1,500 times a month.
